Danny Glover/ Mel Gibson The Lethal Weapon
Is there any pair of more unlikely buddy cops. The older, wiser, family man who works as a constant professional, dressed in a suit and tie and does everything by the book...Versus...The drunk, suicidal, sociopath (as we now know this is not too far removed from Gibson's actual personality.) who lives in a trailer with no other family aside from his dog.
Just to showcase how different these men are, Glover actually mistakes Gibson for a drug dealer rather than a cop when they first meet.
To make matters worse, Glover's teenage daughter drools over Gibson when he walks in and entertains all kinds of fantasies at the dinner table. That could make things ackward for these police partners.
But they make it work...
These two made the perfect team, combining their talents and weaknesses to make not only a crack pair of police officers, but a really entertaining franchise that against all odds lasted four films.
